News NEW YORK 10 New York Breeder | nytbreeders.org | March 2015 DARLEY DUTCHESS VIEWS FARM ADAM COGLIANESE TRICKMEISTER TO TOMORROW BLOODSTOCK Trickmeister, a grade II-placed multiple stakes winner, has been retired and will take up stud duties in 2015 at Tomorrow Blood - stock near Thompson Ridge. The 8-year-old son of Proud Citizen will stand privately. Trickmeister compiled a 6-1-3 mark from 16 starts and earned $437,965 while racing through age 7. He earned four stakes victories: the 2010 Barbaro Stakes at Delaware Park and the Pleasant Colony Stakes at Saratoga, the 2011 Harlan's Holiday Stakes at Gulfstream Park, and the 2012 Vanlandingham Stakes at Belmont Park. Following his Vanland - ingham victory, he fnished third to Mucho Macho Man and Hymn Book in the Sub - urban Handicap (gr. II) and third behind Jersey Town and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) vic - tor Shackleford in the Kelso Handicap (gr. II). Trickmeister was bred in Kentucky by Brereton C. Jones and Timothy T. Thorn - ton. His dam is the winning Afternoon Deelites mare Af - ternoon Trick, a half sister to stakes winner Jenny's Prospector. First Foal a Filly for Emcee The frst foal sired by Forego Stakes (gr. I) win- ner Emcee was born at Becky Thomas' Sequel Stallions New York Feb. 10 A flly, she was pro - duced from the unplaced Street Cry mare Picket- line, a half sister to seven stakes horses including graded winners Valid Expectations and Little Sis - ter. The foal is co- owned by Becky Thomas and Lyn Burleson. A son of Unbri - dled's Song—Surf Club, by Ocean Crest, Emcee is a half brother to Surfer, winner of this year's Al Mak - toum Challenge Round 1 Presented by Longines Conquest Classic Moon Phases (UAE-II), and Baffed, the dam of Donn Handicap (gr. I) winner Constitution. Emcee stands at Sequel Stallions New York for a 2015 fee of $7,500. First Foals for Heavy Breathing The frst foals by Heavy Breath- ing, the full brother to New York re- cord-setting sire Frost Giant, arrived on consecutive days at Dutchess Views Farm near Pine Plains. Pylortes, a daughter of Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Silver Train, delivered a bay flly Feb. 1 (photo right). Parrish Queen, by Johar, foaled a chestnut colt the following day. "Both foals are very lively and strong," said Dutchess Views owner and manager Michael Lischin. "The flly is very well conformed with good bone and a nice-looking head. The colt is bigger than average, with long legs, a nice head, and good bone." Both foals were bred by the part - nership of Sunrise Stables and Gold- en Goose Enterprises. Heavy Breathing, who was cam - paigned by Starlight Racing with trainer Todd Pletcher, stands for Sun - rise Stallions at Dutchess Views. His 2015 fee is $2,500. To celebrate the frst foals by Heavy Breathing (Giant's Cause - way—Takesmybreathaway, by Gone West), Sunrise Stallions is conduct - ing a contest for the best name sug- gestions for members of his frst crop. Names of the mares that have delivered foals by Heavy Breath - ing this season will be listed on the Sunrise Stallions website along with fans' suggested names for their foals, and voting will be conducted on the site.
